Why I Love Coaching Women in Leadership
9 Reasons That Make My Heart Beat Faster
There are few things I cherish more than coaching women in leadership. Over the past decades — first leading teams in international corporations, now guiding ambitious women through their own transformations — I’ve discovered again and again how powerful this work is.
In this blog, I want to share why I love this work so deeply. Because coaching isn’t just about career tactics or leadership skills. It’s about seeing women rise into who they truly are, rewriting old stories, and creating success on their own terms. I hope these reasons will not only give you a glimpse into my heart but also inspire you to reflect on what’s possible for your own leadership journey.
1. Watching women discover their power
One of the greatest joys in my work is witnessing the moment a woman realizes just how powerful she is. Often, she’s spent years downplaying her strengths, carrying doubts that were never hers to begin with. Then, through coaching, something clicks — her posture changes, her voice steadies, and there’s a spark that says: “I can do this.” Seeing that transformation is indescribable. It’s a privilege to be the person holding the mirror so she can see her brilliance reflected back. As Simon Sinek once said, “Leadership is not about being in charge. It's about taking care of those in your charge” — and that begins with taking care of your own self-worth. I believe that reclaiming your power isn’t ego — it’s responsibility. Because the world needs more women who remember who they are.
2. Breaking outdated rules about leadership
Leadership has long been defined by outdated, masculine codes: be tough, always be available, never show doubt. I love helping women see that true leadership looks different. It can be collaborative, empathetic, boundary-aware, and still fiercely effective. Together, we unpack old conditioning and shape a leadership style that’s uniquely hers. Every time we break one of these dusty old rules, it feels like we’re clearing the path not just for her, but for the women coming after her. True leadership is about aligning your values with your voice — not playing a role that exhausts you. When women stop performing power and start embodying it, something remarkable happens: their influence becomes sustainable.
3. Freeing women from guilt about ambition
So many brilliant women feel guilty for wanting more. More impact, more recognition, more growth. They worry it’s selfish or that they’ll sacrifice their families. Through coaching, I get to show them: your ambition is not a betrayal. It’s a powerful force that can lift everyone around you. Helping a woman reframe this — to see her drive as something to be proud of — is one of the most liberating shifts we create together. As Mel Robbins puts it in her Let Them theory: Let them judge. Let them misunderstand. Let them walk away. The point is — you don’t have to carry guilt for being driven. Ambition doesn’t make you too much — it makes you a model for what’s possible.
4. Helping women have a career and a life
I know firsthand how challenging it is to balance a demanding career with motherhood, partnership, and a meaningful life outside of work. It’s why I’m so passionate about guiding women to build careers that integrate, rather than overwhelm. We talk about setting boundaries, designing days that leave room for family dinners and personal joy. Watching a woman realize she doesn’t have to choose between success and well-being — that she can truly have both — fills me with hope every single time. I’ve studied with Kathy Caprino, whose Amazing Career Project helps women step into career clarity with emotional truth, and I’m certified in Brendon Burchard’s High Performance Coaching, a science-based system to create sustainable success without burnout. Even as a trained coach with 30+ years of leadership experience, I keep learning — so I can bring women the best of both insight and structure, heart and strategy.
5. Life-changing clarity through coaching
Coaching conversations have a way of cutting through the noise. It’s often in these quiet, reflective moments that women see possibilities they never considered. They reconnect with their values, set goals that feel true, and start making decisions that align with the life they actually want — not just the one they’ve been told to chase. Clarity is a powerful gift. It turns endless questions into calm conviction, and I love being part of that transformation. And the best part? We can begin this process together in a free strategy call. Before we even meet, I’ll send you a short questionnaire — and that alone can already help you clarify your first ideas and uncover what really matters. 📞 Book a free discovery call with me today
6. Supporting women to show up with confidence
I love helping women navigate tough spaces: speaking up in rooms where they’re the only woman, setting boundaries with demanding bosses, or negotiating for what they deserve. There’s a special kind of power in seeing a woman who once doubted her worth now holding her ground with calm, unwavering confidence. Knowing that she’ll carry this self-belief into every future room she enters makes all the hard work worthwhile. Confidence is contagious, and watching her shine often inspires entire teams to step up differently. I explore this topic in-depth in my blog, "The difference between Show Up and Show Off" — where I unpack how showing up isn’t about arrogance, it’s about being visible, grounded, and true to yourself. If you’re ready to be seen — not louder, but truer, his article will meet you exactly where you are and give you tangible tools to show up differently.
7. More female role models for the world
Every woman who chooses to lead authentically becomes a lighthouse for others. Her courage gives silent permission to countless colleagues, peers, and even her own children to believe in new possibilities. I find it deeply meaningful to know that the work I do helps place more female role models in the world, for communities to see what’s possible. It’s a ripple effect that’s impossible to measure but unmistakable in its impact. In my IT’S IN YOU podcast episode with Mira, we spoke about what it means to stay true to yourself as a leader, even in challenging environments where conformity is often rewarded. Mira reminded me that real leadership happens in the moments when you lead with presence, not performance, and that authenticity creates space for others to rise.
8. Bringing my corporate experience into meaningful work
After three decades in international business, I’ve seen it all: the politics, the pressure, the unspoken rules. Now I get to channel all of that experience into helping women navigate their own paths — minus the detours I once had to take. This isn’t theoretical for me; it’s lived. Watching women sidestep some of the pitfalls I faced, with more grace and less stress, feels like the ultimate return on my own journey. I’ve led international teams, made tough trade-offs as a working mother, and found my voice in boardrooms that didn’t always want to hear it. That’s why my coaching blends practical leadership strategy with real empathy for what it means to be a woman in corporate life. I know what it’s like to feel stuck in a role that looks great on paper — and I know what it takes to break free and create something more aligned.
9. Staying curious, connected and growing
Finally, I love this work because it keeps me alive to what matters. Coaching isn’t static — each woman’s story teaches me something new. It stretches my perspective, sharpens my empathy, and constantly reminds me why this mission is so important. Staying connected to women’s dreams, fears, and triumphs is the best way I know to keep my own heart soft, strong, and fully engaged. Growth, for me, is never a one-time event — it’s a practice. Inspired by the High Performance Coaching framework, I help women strengthen the habits of clarity, energy, necessity, productivity, influence, and courage. I don’t coach because I have all the answers — I coach because I believe in the power of continuous growth. That’s what fuels great leadership, and a great life.
So there you have it — 9 reasons why coaching women in leadership makes my heart beat faster.
It’s more than a job. It’s my purpose, my passion, and truly the legacy I hope to leave: a ripple of women leading boldly and living joyfully on their terms.
