What I Want to Create as a Coach, Experienced Female Leader, and Mother

There are moments in a career when something deep inside you says: It’s time to lead differently.
For me, this realization didn’t just happen once—it came in waves throughout my career. It surfaced when a colleague questioned my ambition with a subtle but loaded, “Do you really want to take this on?” It appeared when I found myself working longer hours, delivering more results, yet feeling less connected to the meaning behind my work. And it struck hard when I realized I was pouring the best of my time and energy into meeting external expectations, leaving little room for my own vision of success. These moments became inflection points—signs that the way forward required not just doing more, but leading on my own terms. Research by McKinsey and LeanIn.org confirms that many women in leadership face this same crossroads, often balancing ambition with the weight of systemic bias and invisible barriers. That’s why my mission is to help women step into leadership that feels deeply aligned—while still achieving measurable impact.
1. As a Coach – Guiding Women to Lead on Their Own Terms
Many women in leadership quietly admit: “I know I can make an impact—but not like this.”
They’ve earned their seat at the table through expertise, resilience, and results, yet they’re weighed down by competing demands, organizational politics, and the exhausting need to prove themselves over and over again. Coaching offers a structured, confidential space to step back from the noise and reconnect with what truly matters. It’s where we shift the question from “What do others expect of me?” to “What do I want to create as a leader—and why?” This kind of clarity is not a luxury; it’s a performance driver. Over decades in corporate leadership, I’ve learned that the best leaders aren’t those with all the answers, but those who ask the right questions and create space for meaningful dialogue. Perspective is a strategic advantage in high-pressure environments because it helps leaders differentiate between what is urgent and what is truly important. Depth builds trust—it signals to teams that their leader is capable of seeing the bigger picture and making decisions with foresight. And humor? It’s an often-overlooked leadership skill that strengthens resilience, fosters connection, and diffuses tension when stakes are high. In my work, I blend these elements—supporting women to navigate uncertainty with calm, engage their teams with authenticity, and remain open to growth without losing sight of their core values.
3. As a Mother – Modeling Courage and Humanity in Leadership
Motherhood has profoundly shaped how I lead and coach others to lead.
It’s taught me to prioritize with intention, communicate with empathy, and model the behaviors I want to see in others—whether in my children or my colleagues. I’ve made career decisions that weren’t always the easiest or most obvious, but they were right for me, and that authenticity matters. In leadership, the same principle applies: People follow leaders who are real, not those who simply follow a script. Research from Deloitte’s Women in the Boardroom report shows that diverse, human-centered leadership improves innovation, team engagement, and overall organizational health. For me, leading with humanity means making empathy and performance inseparable, setting and respecting boundaries, and showing the next generation—inside and outside of work—that leadership can be ambitious without being relentless. This is not about “having it all”, but about consciously designing a career and life that feel aligned and sustainable.
